Scientific Rigor, You Say? Yup, Here it Is.
SCORE was developed by Professor Michael Leiter, drawing on his 40+ years of research on what drives incivility and poor behavior.
- Dr. Leiter is Professor Emeritus of Psychology at Acadia University in Canada, past Director of the Center for Organizational Research & Development that applies high quality research methods to human resource issues confronting organizations, and past Canada Research Chair in Occupational Health and Wellbeing.
- In developing SCORE, Professor Leiter incorporated impactful components of the well-documented and successful CREW program (Civility, Respect and Engagement at Work) deployed across the US Veterans Health Administration. Good thing, because we know that even after workgroups have reaped the benefits of the CREW program, they continue to experience improvements in workplace civility, experienced supervisor incivility, and distress.
